Corporate Hire

One of the most important elements of organising a successful corporate event is choosing the right location. For atmosphere, unique surroundings and convenience, Tudor House and Garden is hard to beat.

Within this historic complex, we offer a wide range of rooms which can be laid out in different styles to suit your event – be it a meeting, conference, product launch, team building day or corporate hospitality with a difference. They may be used by themselves or in combination to enable, for example, breakout sessions and the ability to provide catering and refreshments separately from the main venue. Alternatively, it is possible to hire the entire venue for exclusive use.

  • Georgian Room Upstairs – 35 people
  • Georgian Room Downstairs – 40 people
  • King John’s Palace – 60 people
  • Banqueting Hall – 55 people
  • Westgate Hall – 74 people

The above capacities are dependent on room configuration.

King John’s Palace is uncovered, but if you wish you can arrange to have a marquee erected. You are free to provide your own catering or choose from the many catering companies here in Southampton. We do not provide event catering at Tudor House and Garden, however we can provide lunches, light refreshments and afternoon teas for business meetings and small informal gatherings if you are booking one of our rooms.

Banqueting Hall

Oak panelled walls make for an atmospheric and historic setting for any event. The Lord and Lady of the house would have sat at a high table at the end of the room, so this room is no stranger to hosting important speakers and fine reception events. Perfect for more intimate corporate functions and receptions the hall can also be used for it’s original purpose allowing for prestigious sit down banqueting.

Availability: Seven days a week, after the museum closes at 5pm.

Capacity: 40 guests standing/seated, 28 guests for a sit down meal.


Georgian room (upstairs)

Thought to have originally dated from the 17th Century with substantial alterations in the 18th Century, this is one of the larger rooms in the house. The flexible space is popular for meetings and layouts can include theatre style or boardroom. Wi-Fi is also available in this area.

Availability: Seven days a week, 9.30am to 10.30pm.

Capacity: 40 theatre, 18 boardroom.


Georgian room (downstairs)

With school-style tables and chairs, our downstairs Georgian room works perfectly for training sessions and team building events. Easily adapted for meetings, this flexible space can accommodate most smaller functions.

Availability: Seven days a week, 9.30am to 10.30pm.

Capacity: 40 seated


King John’s Palace

Although it was never a palace and King John didn’t own it, this is an outdoor venue with a difference. What you will find here is an historic outdoor space with plenty of room to set up a range of activities. Outdoor electricity supply is available and you are welcome to install your own marquee.

Availability: Seven days a week, 9.30am to 10.30pm.

Capacity: 60 standing or for a sit down meal


Westgate Hall

Westgate Hall

This historic venue is very popular for weddings, receptions and corporate events. The exposed beams of the 15th century timber framed hall will form a memorable backdrop to any event. Conference equipment including laptop, data projector and screen can be provided on site and we will work with you to set up the space to your requirements.

Capacity: Max 74 guests seated/standing, 60 for a sit down meal.

Whole Museum

For larger events the entire house and garden is available for hire, offering a mix of useable space and historical interest. Guests will be free to explore the house and gardens with staff on hand to help.

Availability: Seven days a week, after the museum closes at 5pm.

Capacity: Dependant on function
